Take a Pie for Cancer Relief (09-19-07)
Adams State College Circle K and Community Partnerships are sponsoring Take a Pie for Cancer Relief at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27 (Homecoming Week) in the cafeteria located in the Student Union Building.
"It is an opportunity to throw a pie at President Dave Svaldi, Provost Michael Mumper, Associate Provost Frank Novotny, and Vice President Bill Mansheim," Tony Ross, adjunct professor of business and an organizer of the event, said.
Ross said for three dollars participants can throw a pie at gallery volunteers. From 1 p.m until 2 p.m. football coaches will take as many pies as you can dole out.
There will also be a pie eating contest. The entrance fee for the contest is $25, and there are prizes.
All proceeds will go to the SLV Cancer Relief Fund, an Alamosa based 501(c)3 tax exempt organization founded to financially support cancer patients here in the Valley. SLV-CRF is an all volunteer, membership-driven organization (annual memberships are available starting at $25; $10 for students).
