ASC's Community Partnerships hosts Solar Workshop (10-17-07)

The San Luis Valley Solar Association and Adams State College Community Partnerships invite existing and potential solar-related businesses to a free solar industry workshop, November 6. Presenters will include representatives from Sustainable Solutions, Como, Colo.; Rocky Mountain Solar of Colorado Springs; Pooh Electric Corner of Idaho Springs; and Lynn Hirshman, Executive Director, CoSEIA (Colorado Solar Energy Industries Association).

The workshop will start with networking and refreshments at 5 p.m., followed by the presentation from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Adams State School of Business, room 238 (Third & Richardson.) Please call 587-8209 for more information and to register.

The workshop will address commonly asked consumer questions related to various types of solar power, the changes in the solar industry since Amendment 37 was passed, CoSEIA's industry certification program, and the future of the solar industry in Colorado. The workshop is offered at no cost in order to support the San Luis Valley solar industry.

CoSEIA is the Colorado branch of the nationwide Solar Energy Industries Association, founded in 1989. Organized with the goal of promoting the use of solar energy, CoSEIA is comprised mainly of solar-focused companies providing solar products and services to both residential and commercial customers.

The San Luis Valley Solar Association is hosted by the USDA Resource Conservation & Development (RC&D) and funded by El Pomar. The mission of the San Luis Valley Solar Association is to reduce regional energy consumption and greenhouse emissions by providing homeowners, institutions, businesses, and farmers with cost-effective solar solutions.
