ASC HPPE students partner with Evans (05-21-08)
Evans Elementary students, Darrian Brown, Abraham Martinez, Juana Tomas, and Sydney Gutierrez are encouraged, by Adams State College Human Performance and Physical Education senior seminar students, Nathan Wood, Brett Jones and Christa Seitz, to live healthy. During the spring 2008 semester, the college students conducted a service learning project with the elementary students, under the direction of Assistant Professor of HPPE, Dr. Margie Miller. The project, "Healthy Buddies," entailed one-on-one interactions to help encourage healthy lifestyle choices. The project culminated with lunch and activities on campus, April 24. The senior seminar students presented pre- and post-project data and results of the program.
