Student organizes Virginia Tech vigil (04-15-08)
Jesse Russell, Adams State College class of 2009, has organized "A Peace of Poetry" at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, at the Japanese/American Memorial Garden. "One year after the Virginia Tech shooting, colleges and communities across the country will remember the pain and suffering of that day," Russell said.
"A Peace of Poetry," inspired by National Poetry Month, seeks to demonstrate the power poetry has in shaping and creating peace. The event will feature poetry by Ann Lauterbach, Huang Xiang (translated by Andrew G. Emerson) and Russell.
