Film and speaker address alternative energy transportation (04-08-08)

If you are annoyed with high gas prices, attend the showing of the film "Who Killed the Electric Car," at 7 p.m. Monday, April 14, in the Adams State College Carson Auditorium, sponsored by the Adams State College EARTH group. Jeffrey Blamey, amateur electric motorcycle conversionist, will lead a discussion immediately following the film. The event is free and open to the public.

Blamey will show features and field questions about his converted motorcycle built with off-the-shelf parts as well as a mountain bike from 21 Wheels with a hub motor conversion which reaches speeds of 25 miles per hour with pedal assist...something more attainable and cost effective for the average person.

Blamey is a member of the Denver Electric Vehicle Council and works for GAIAM Real Goods, Inc., the foremost source of information and products in renewable energy, sustainable living, alterative transportation, and re-localization (the ultimate anecdote for global warming and peak oil). Please visit tReal Goods for more information.

ASC Community Partnership will be selling re-usable grocery bags imprinted with the logos for ASC Community Partnership and EARTH before the film.

For more information, call 719-587-7262 or 719-587-7827 or EARTH.
