ASC sociology students present papers at Western State March 22 (04-04-08)

Four sociology students from Adams State College had an opportunity to present papers at Western State College in Gunnison Saturday, March 22.
The conference, hosted by Western State College for the third year, offers students majoring in sociology an opportunity to present papers they have written in a professional forum. The seniors researched their papers in Dr. Grace Young's, professor of sociology, class, sociological research methods.
Ryan Laverdiere presented a paper he and Rose Johnson, class of 2008, researched together, "ASC Students' Attitudes Toward People with STDs as Dependent on Race, Gender, and Religiosity." Donna Hanks and Anastasia Martin presented their original research "Family Structure and Alcohol Consumption." Pat Bryson presented the research that she and Terry Harrison completed, "A Comparison of First-Generation and Non-First Generation Adams State College Students' Academic Experiences."
Adams State College professors of sociology, Young and Dr. Ted McNeilsmith accompanied the students.
