Fritzsche '92 to May grads: take action and make a difference (07-01-05)
A college degree can be a start to making a difference in the world, Melanie Patton Fritzsche '92 told more than 300 Adams State College graduates during the spring commencement ceremony May 7.
"You can take action, just like I've taken action, you can make things happen, and you can make a difference," said Fritzsche, who graduated from Adams State before pursuing a degree and career in law.
Fritzsche told the graduates in Plachy Auditorium life after a degree might be difficult, but to work towards goals, and they will happen.
"The first two years were rough," Fritzsche said. "I didn't get into the field I wanted. I didn't get the job I wanted.
"If you find yourself in a similar situation, don't get discouraged," Fritzsche said. "Keep on going, and it will work out."
