The 4 day workshop is specifically designed for elementary and middle school teachers who want to connect students to books in deep and meaningful ways.
Excite and inspire yourself to explore how collaborative learning, in conjunction with independent reading, encourages students to think more critically and creatively in literature circles.
- Learn how to organize, schedule, manage, and assess literature circles
- Utilize Bloom's Taxonomy when asking questions and designing activities
- Integrate "book talks" into a reading program using high quality and award winning books
- Incorporate activities that appeal to the Multiple Intelligences
- Create a Book Study Literature Circle Unit
- Organize a binder with ideas, information, and units designed by class participants, to use immediately in your classroom
This workshop is scheduled to take place January 30-31 and February 6-7, 2009, in Monte Vista at the Bill Metz Elementary School Library, 545 Second Avenue, Monte Vista, CO
Cost is $185.00 for the 4 day workshop.
OPTIONAL: 2.0 semester hours graduate credit is available for additional $90.00
