Course Description: The history of rock-and-roll and its impact on American popular culture. In this course we will study the origins, development, forms, and key figures of Rock music from the 1950s to the 1980s, and place it in the context of recent American and British history. The goal of this course is teach students about rock music, but more importantly to draw connections between rock music and society. Two sections available: open enrollment and semester based (both online courses).
