Course Description: Physical Geology is an introduction to the materials of the earth and the internal and surficial processes that have acted upon the earth through time. Laboratory work includes identification and classification of minerals and rocks and exercises involving topographic and geological maps. The Physical Geology course consists of 15 lessons and additional required options. Each lesson has paired and complimentary text and laboratory exercises. Learning Objectives are provided for each lesson in order to assist students in identifying what information and concepts should be mastered.
