ASC Xperimental Theatre

The exhibition is a companion piece to the play. It is an opportunity to bring together images of experiences that capture the thoughts, feelings, ideology, and/or spiritual beliefs surrounding the death penalty in our society. Through the work of San Luis Valley and regional artists, join us to explore issues of justice, forgiveness, and reconciliation.

Is forgiveness a universal truth? Do major world religions differ on the idea of mercy? What is the nature of justice? Is there a place for revenge? Should we attempt to reconcile with those who have done us harm? This is a day to explore how we, as individuals and society, treat failure and transgression.

Witness to Innocence is spearheaded by former death row prisoners who have been exonerated and released from death row across the United States and who are now actively engaged in the struggle to end the death penalty. These courageous witnesses bring a human face to the death penalty that no one else can.
