It was definitely a toe-tapping good time!

Colorado Springs, CO

On November 10, 2006, Colorado Springs area alumni attended the Dale Chihuly art exhibit at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center MODERN. Over 200 alumni gathered at Showtime Sports Bar for the big football team sendoff. They then enjoyed catching up over hamburgers and hotdogs before heading off to the evening game. About 7500 people attended the game and most of them were rooting for ASC. The weather was perfect and the game was even better-ASC 28, Western 10!

Creede, CO

On Saturday, August 19th, San Luis Valley area alumni made their way to beautiful Creede, CO, where they enjoyed a reception before attending the Creede Theatre production of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. The play was superb, although the attendees will not be eating meat pies any time soon. Holly Felmlee, Alumni Board President, said, "It was great to see alumni taking advantage of the opportunity to go to the theatre." She also said, "It was a totally new group of alumni than those who have attended previous functions. That’s really neat!"

Alamosa, CO

On August 11, 2006, Lori and Gaylene donned their grass skirts again for another luau. This time their guests were the SLV teachers. It was a small but lively group that gathered in the Marvel House courtyard for some more coconut shrimp and pineapple cake. No one caught this group doing the hula but they shared a lot of laughter and fond memories of ASC.

Over 40 San Luis Valley alumni gathered in the Coronado Courtyard for a family picnic on June 17, 2006. The day was beautiful with not a cloud in the sky. The kids played lots of games out in the sun, while their parents and grandparents visited in the shade of Coronado Hall. Hamburger and hotdogs were enjoyed by all. Mary Van Pelt '81 said, "I lived on the 3rd floor of Coronado Hall for two years, so I found it especially interesting, to 'go back' twenty-five years and reflect on the significant changes in my life since my graduation and college dorm days." We'd like to make this an ASC family tradition so make plans to attend next year!

Irvine, CA

The Fish Market was the location chosen for our two Southern California alumni events. On Tuesday, June 13th, San Diego alumni gathered for a delicious seafood dinner at the Top of the Market. While catching up on all the news and getting a visit with Dr. Marvin Motz and his wife Mary, alumni could gaze out at the bay and watch the spectacular sunset. It was a super evening! On Wednesday, June 14th, two hours away, Los Angeles area alumni gathered to get their chance to see Dr. Motz. Almost every decade from 1950 to 2000 was represented there. Everyone decided it was definitely worth facing the traffic to come and they can't wait until next year!

San Diego, CA

Fort Collins, CO

Fort Collins, CO On Friday, June 9th, Fort Collins area alumni met for a small intimate gathering at the Gardens on Spring Creek. While listening to the rain on the greenhouse roof, they filled up on a baked potato bar dinner and reminisced about the good old days at Adams State. The great thing about alumni events like this is that it doesn't matter whether you attended ASC in the 60's or the 90's, everyone visits like long lost friends! Next year, we'd love to see twice as many at the function. Watch for upcoming events!
