Academic Skills Coordinator

Position Description:
- Coordinate academic skills program.
- Assist the counseling coordinator in providing academic and personal advisement.
- Assist in planning, supervising, and implementing educational, cultural, and enrichment activities.
- Conduct small workshops and oversee curriculum development and teach during both the academic year and the summer.
- Keep records and prepare written reports.
- Track & evaluate academic information for students, including GPA's and test scores.
- Grade student papers and writing proficiencies.
- Write articles for newsletters and papers.
- Supervision of instructional staff.
- Plan, supervise bi-monthly night sessions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in education, English, or other related area. Teaching licensure preferred.
- Experience needed in writing articles.
- Experience needed in teaching, advising, and employee supervision.
- Experience needed in evaluating and interpreting standardized test scores and developing assessment tools for monitoring progress.
- Demonstrated experience in the following areas: teaching, organization and oral and written communication.
- Demonstrated computer skills necessary to perform above tasks, specifically, MS Word, Excel, & PowerPoint.
- Valid driver's license, a clean driving record and access to reliable transportation required.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, with some evening and weekend work required.
- Must be a self-starter, as demonstrated through previous job experience
- Preference will be given to those individuals who have succeeded in overcoming barriers similar to those confronting the target students.

Rank/Salary:
Commensurate with experience. This is a Colorado exempt position that includes excellent benefits including health insurance, paid annual leave, and a retirement program.
