Associate Provost of Graduate Studies

Position Description:
Adams State College is a small liberal arts college offering graduate programs in Art, Counseling, Humanities (History Emphasis), Human Performance and Physical Education, and Teacher Education. We seek a dynamic administrator to fill the position of Associate Provost for Graduate Studies. This individual is responsible for general oversight of graduate education including assessment and accreditation issues, program development and expansion into new markets, curriculum design and evaluation, and articulation of policies and procedures. The APGS also is responsible for the operations of the graduate office including, but not limited to, budgeting and admission procedures.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Earned Doctorate or terminal degree in an academic area taught at ASC
- Successful college teaching at the graduate level.
- Demonstrated record of academic and professional achievement sufficient for a tenured appointment in one of the college's academic departments.
- A record of successful leadership and academic administrative experience.
- Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse academic departments and constituencies.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to a variety of program delivery methods (traditional and distance learning).
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others, integrate opposing views, and resolve conflicts.
- Ability to perform above job description.
Preferred:
- Working knowledge of, and experience with state and federal requirements for licensure and program accreditation, particularly at the graduate level.
- Direct experience in delivering and administering face-to-face, on-line and distance education programs.
- Demonstrated ability to streamline and rationalize policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity in access and academic success for students.
Salary:
