Installing Lavasoft's Ad-Aware
Spyware is software that reports on how you use your computer and the Internet to the software publisher. Adware is software that is designed to provide additional advertising on behalf of the software publisher while you use your computer or the Internet. Both spyware and adware can be installed onto your computer without your knowledge or permission.
Tools such as Lavasoft's Ad-Aware, Spybot Search & Destroy, and Microsoft's Windows Defender can remove various forms of mal-ware from your computer. No program currently cleans all of the various forms of spyware/adware, so we recommend using at least two different mal-ware scanners, and checking your computer at least once per week.
