Library has laptops for loan (01-30-08)
The Nielsen Library initiated a Laptop Loan Program and Mobile Learning Center, funded by a $17,000 Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant acquired by reference and instruction librarians, Brooke Andrade and Paul Mascarenas. Ten laptops and a laptop cart were purchased and are available for checkout within the library to students, faculty, and staff through the Laptop Loan Program. The laptops are also being used to provide technology instruction throughout the San Luis Valley for the Mobile Learning Center. To date, Andrade and Mascarenas have made presentations at Southern Peaks in Alamosa, Center Public Library, Ft. Garland Public Library, and San Luis Public Library.
