Licensing and Endorsements

Upon completing all Teacher Education program requirements, the candidate may be recommended by the Department of Teacher Education to the Colorado Department of Education for initial licensure or added endorsement. Application forms for initial licensure and added endorsement are found on the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) web site below.

The candidate submits the appropriate CDE application page that requires the "Dean of Education or Certification Officer" signature to the Field Services Office in the Department of Teacher Education. When the candidate's records are complete and have been reviewed, which may take up to four weeks, this document is signed and returned, with an official transcript, to the candidate who completes the application and delivers it to the licensing unit at the Colorado Department of Education. The candidate is responsible for all fees and costs.
